Zaiqo Privacy Policy
Toshihiro.nakao ("we", "us") has established this Privacy Policy to explain how the iOS / iPadOS app "Zaiqo" (the "App") handles your information.
1. Our Approach
The App records and manages your product stock, stock movements, purchase orders, and stocktakes. The information you enter is stored on your device (and, if you use iCloud sync with Zaiqo Plus, in your own iCloud account). We do not collect it.
- The App does not send your inventory or business information to our servers. We do not operate any servers.
- The only network communication the App performs is for purchasing and restoring purchases through the App Store, and for iCloud sync with Zaiqo Plus.
- There is no sign-up or login.
- The App does not show ads, perform usage analytics, or track you.
- The App does not include any third-party libraries (SDKs).
2. Information the App Handles
To manage your inventory, the App handles the following information that you enter or register:
- Product details (name, SKU, barcode or QR code, photos, category, tags, cost and selling price, tax category, expiration date, storage temperature, lot number, custom fields, and so on)
- Stock quantities and their breakdown by storage location
- The history of stock changes (date and time, quantity, reason, the name of the person who recorded it, and an identifier used to tell devices apart for stock-in, stock-out, adjustments, and transfers)
- Supplier details (company name, contact person, email address, and phone number)
- Purchase orders and your business details (your shop name, address, and contact details shown on purchase orders)
- Storage locations and floor maps (layout, shelf placement, and any photo you import as a tracing background)
- Stocktake results, bills of materials, saved searches, and your settings
Information about other people
You may register details of people other than you, such as a supplier's contact name, email address, or phone number. This information is likewise handled only on your device and in your iCloud account, and we never receive it.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
- The information above is stored in the App's private storage on your device and may be included in your device backups.
- iCloud sync (Zaiqo Plus): If you purchase Zaiqo Plus, the information above is stored in the private area of your own iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit) and synced across devices signed in with the same Apple Account. We cannot see the contents of this area. If you have not purchased Zaiqo Plus, your information is stored only on your device.
- Widgets: To show widgets on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, the App writes a summary of your stock status (such as the number of items that need attention, product names and quantities, incoming deliveries, and expiration dates) to on-device storage shared only by the App and its widgets.
4. Access to Device Features
- Camera: Used to scan barcodes and QR codes (on products and shelf labels) and to take photos of products, product packaging, and receipts. Images are stored on your device and in iCloud (if you use sync) only when you save them as product photos or a floor map background; otherwise they are used on the spot for reading. Without this permission, you can still search and register products by typing.
- Photos: Photos you pick are used as product photos, for reading product packaging, and as floor map backgrounds. The App does not access any photos other than the ones you pick.
- Face ID / Touch ID: Used only if you turn on the app lock in Settings. Authentication is performed by the system, and neither the App nor we receive any biometric data.
- Notifications: The App asks for permission only when you turn on alerts in Settings. Notifications tell you about items that are out of stock, below their reorder point, or close to their expiration date, and they are created on your device. Without this permission, you can still check this information in the App.
5. On-Device Processing
Barcode scanning and text recognition (OCR) of product packaging and receipts use Apple's built-in features on your device. When reading product names and other details from a package photo, the App also uses Apple's built-in on-device AI (Apple Intelligence) on supported devices. In every case, your photos and the information read from them never leave your device. Actions you run from Shortcuts or Siri are also processed on your device.
6. Exporting and Sharing
The App lets you create CSV files and PDF purchase orders and stocktake sheets, and share them in the way you choose (email, saving to Files, other apps, and so on). Sharing happens only when you do it, and how the information is handled after that is up to the service you use and the people who receive it. The App never sends anything outside on its own.
7. In-App Purchases
The paid upgrade "Zaiqo Plus" is purchased through Apple's App Store. Payment information is handled by Apple, and we never receive it. The App checks your App Store purchase history to confirm whether you have purchased it and records the result on your device.
8. Sharing With Third Parties
Because the information the App handles is never sent to us, we do not share it with any third party.
9. Deleting Your Data
- Deleted products move to the Trash and are deleted automatically after 30 days. You can also delete them permanently from the Trash right away. The history of stock changes is kept as a business record even after a product is permanently deleted.
- "Delete All Data" (「すべてのデータを削除」) in Settings erases all of the App's information. If you use iCloud sync, it is also erased from iCloud and your other synced devices.
- Deleting the App removes the information stored on your device. Information stored in iCloud remains and is restored when you use the App with the same Apple Account. You can also delete it from iCloud in the iOS Settings app under your name > iCloud > Manage Account Storage.
10. Children
The App is designed for businesses and is not directed to children under the age of 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes take effect when the updated policy is posted on this page.
